About Us

Our History

Amin & Joy Buba Dibal Foundation (A&JBD Foundation), is a non-governmental, non-partisan, non-profit making and non-political association, founded in the year 2021.

The experience of monumental corruption in Nigerian society and failure in services delivery, widespread violence in the country and the attendant human suffering due to conflict has pricked our consciences and inspired us to contribute to society in three chosen areas of the foundation – good governance, peacebuilding and humanitarian aid.

From Our Visionary

For many years, I worked as a community worker and witnessed firsthand the challenges faced by communities; human suffering especially by women and children due to failure in services delivery by government agencies and weak capacity of communities to demand services, the results of conflict with its impact on the disabled, women, children, and general humanitarian crisis in my state of Borno and widely in northern Nigeria.

Our work is thus deeply inspired by our experiences and it’s about fostering hope, restoring dignity, and creating a world where everyone has the chance to thrive. We are dedicated to making tangible impact, not just through programmes, but through genuine human connection and support.

Since our founding, we have empowered and improved lives of especially girls and women; facilitated communities to action on human and climatic issues; stimulated state and non-state actors to enhance services delivery, upheld human rights and supported causes for accountability.

We are therefore open to partnership and committed to work with communities and actors working around issues of Good Governance (in health, education, livelihood, climate change, accountability and anti-corruption, institutional reform), Peacebuilding (SGBV, governance, political, social and economic institutional related initiatives for peace and security), and Humanitarian Aid (Food, water, shelter, medical care, livelihood).

Together, we can enrich lives and make impact on communities. I thus invite you to explore our website, learn about our programmes, and join us on this journey, your involvement will make a difference.
